Born in Elrose, Saskatchewan, Stephenson started his 53-year career at CJAV in Port Alberni in 1948 and eventually made his way to Vancouver as a sportscaster at CKWX, covering events like the British Empire Games and later working as the play-by-play voice for the B.C.
